Hey Todd. Drew and I just returned from Independence. We were originally going to go out there with Jared, but he had to go work unexpectedly, so we went out by ourselves. We shoveled out and cleaned that boulder you walked up to. It has a nice line going right up the face that is about V3 from the stand and Drew was thinking around V10 from the sit. Drew couldnt manage to do it as the shear burliness of the undercling moves had him worried about his finger tendons, but he got awful close. There could be one or two more lines on that boulder, but we were pressed for time, so we went down to the lower area which has melted out significantly and has some potential. We cleaned and climbed one boulder, which has 3 V0/1 slabs and around 5 V3 to V5 problems. We then had to run through the fog to our car so Drew could get to work. When David, Cory, Drew, and I were out there last monday we cleaned and climbed a stand HardV6/V7. David got the FA and I believe he has video of someone climbing it. When Drew and I hiked up the hill and onto the ridge we found a couple climbable boulders but all of them have absolute death falls, if you fell you would roll down the mountain and die in a gory mess. So I think that covers the “details from them” part of the post.
